Meet Andrea

Hello! My name is Andrea Gibbs, and I am a certified AMS Montessori teacher with a lifelong passion for working with young children.

My journey in Montessori began in 1998. I earned my BA in Education and, after receiving my Montessori credential in 2006, spent many years as a lead teacher guiding children through some of their most important and formative years.

After nearly three decades in Montessori education, I knew I wanted to create something of my own—a school that reflected the kind of environment I believe children truly thrive in: warm, nurturing, engaging, and thoughtfully prepared with each child in mind. That vision became Little Haven Montessori.

A Little About My Family

My journey to becoming a mother is a story that will always be close to my heart.

During the COVID lockdown, our family received a call about a three-year-old little girl who needed a home. We immediately began the process of making sure we were the right fit for her, and a couple of months later, our family received another unexpected call. Her biological parents were expecting a baby and asked if we would consider welcoming the baby into our home as well.

We were over the moon.

After 16 years of marriage and 10 years of fertility treatments, our family grew in the most unexpected and beautiful way. Within six months, we went from waiting and wondering what our family might look like to having a toddler and an infant to love.

Being a mother has deepened my understanding of just how unique every child is and how important it is for children to feel safe, respected, loved, and understood. It has also reinforced what I have believed throughout my Montessori career: every child has their own path, their own pace, and their own incredible potential.

At Little Haven Montessori, my goal is to create a place where children feel a true sense of belonging while developing independence, confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
